Shenango River Water Trail

Upper Shenango River Water Trail Feasibility Study

The Shenango River Watchers received a grant from the PADCNR to conduct a feasibility study for the creation of a new Water Trail on the Upper Shenango River from the Pymatuning Reservoir to the Shenango Reservoir.

WallacePancher Group was contracted to conduct the study, including the analysis of secondary source mapping, creation of a GIS Database, a physical assessment of the 25-mile reach to identify existing and potential boat launch locations, public access points, in-stream blockages, and opportunities for commercial/restaurant/outfitting locations. Also included was an analysis of the methodologies and costs for blockage removal, and several public meetings and open houses to solicit feedback from the community.
