WallacePancher Group completed plans for the construction of approximately 900 feet of East Rippling Run located within a public park. The project included streambank stabilization and riparian revegetation by installing bank stabilization structures that also promote aquatic habitat. These techniques reduce excessive sediment loading. The primary goal of this project was to protect adjacent baseball fields and playgrounds within the park and reduced sediment loading to the stream.
The primary features of this project included:
- Toewood, rootwad, sawtooth deflector, and stacked boulder wall structures.
- Protection of existing pedestrian bridges that cross the stream.
- Restore and reestablish a riparian corridor with tree and shrub planting and specialty seed mixes and create a “no mow” zone.
