For more than two decades, many groups have been producing redevelopment plans for various areas of downtown Wheeling, WV. While these plans were all positive steps in the revitalization of the downtown Central Business District, they were not conducted in any coordinated fashion that brought a unifying theme and purpose to them.

Recently, the City of Wheeling and the Wheeling National Heritage Area Corporation requested that WPG work with them to integrate these often-disparate components into one unified plan that encourages revitalization now and into the future.

Extensive research and coordination of prior plans resulted in a vision for a unified downtown with infill development, open spaces, and new streetscapes. WPG was able to compile the information into a graphic presentation for the city’s use in marketing, promotion, and funding applications.
